 Greetings, my name is Pastor Doug Forman, and I am in my
2nd year of service here at Breesport. My wife, Michele, and I have
been enjoying serving the Lord in the areas of Youth, Christian Education,
Outreach, and most importantly, the preaching and teaching of God's
Word. I personally was saved at the age of 25 through the witnessing ministry
of a former co-worker and a great-aunt of mine. Both of them challenged me to read the
Bible, beginning in the Gospel of Matthew praying, “God, if you’re real prove
it to me as I read these words.” And,
prove it to me He did! I trusted Jesus
Christ as my personal Lord and Savior in October of 1995 when I finally
understood the amazing truth of John 3:16…that God so loved me that He gave
His only begotten Son!
I became a member of Breesport
Baptist Church
in 1997 with my wife Michele and our two wonderful children; Jessica and
Corey. As a family we served the Lord
here in a variety of ways and then in May of 2005 we accepted the church’s
call to become the Associate Pastor of Christian Education. By June of that year I had resigned from my
position at Corning, Inc. and begun this newest chapter of our lives as we
follow after Christ.
I am currently enrolled with
Moody Bible
College endeavoring to earn
a Bachelor’s degree of Biblical Studies through their distance learning
program. I am passionate about teaching
the Word of God with the goal of making disciples, from the youngest to the
oldest, who will in turn follow hard after Christ. I will close by saying that I am thrilled to
be on staff here at Breesport
Baptist Church.
It has been a second home for my
family and me for more than 10 years now and I am thankful to be able to
serve my family here at the church in this way.
